一、where用法
where从句表示特定的地点，一般可改写为to (at) the place where。
1.状语从句
Sit where I can see you. 坐在我能看到你的地方。
Wherever she goes, there are crowds of people waiting to see her.
她所到之处都有成群的人等着见她。
2.定语从句
2.1限制性定语从句
It's one of the few countries where people drive on the left. 这是为数不多的几个靠左行驶的国家之一。
The government is at a stage where it is willing to talk to almost anyone. 政府已经到了几乎愿意与任何人对话的地步。
2.2非限制性定语从句
We then moved to Paris, where we lived for six years. 我们随后移居巴黎，在那里住了六年。
Ships carry live sheep to markets in the Middle East where they are killed at festivals.
活羊用船装到中东市场，在节日里屠宰上市。
注意：其非限制性定语从句的逗号有时省略。
3.名词性从句
3.1主语从句
Where he went remains a mystery. 他去哪儿了始终是个谜。
3.2同位语从句
The question where he is now has no answer. 他现在在哪里这个问题没有答案。
3.3宾语从句
He knew where Henry Carter had gone. 他知道亨利·卡特去了哪里。
3.4表语从句
This is where I live. 这是我住的地方。
That's where you're wrong. 这就是你的错误所在。
二、wherever用法
1.Wherever从句表示非特定的地方，一般可改写为：to (at) any place where。相当于no matter where:
Sit wherever you like.
你爱坐在哪儿就坐哪儿。
Wherever she led, they followed.
她引向哪里，他们就跟到哪里。
Wherever she goes there's always a flap.
无论她到哪里，都会引起一阵骚动。
She'll wear fine jewellery wherever she goes.
无论到哪儿她都会佩戴精美的首饰。
Wherever he goes, a carload of soldiers goes with him.
不管他去哪里，总有一车士兵跟着。
All I'm hoping for is that wherever Trevor is he will come home safe and sound.
我只希望不管特雷弗在哪里，他都能平平安安回家。
Wherever the troops went, they never infringed on the people's interests.

3.no matter where 只引导状语从句=wherever,但wherever 还可引导名词性从句。
No matter where you go, I will follow you.(=Wherever you go, I will follow you.)
无论你去哪儿，我也去哪儿。
但I'll live in wherever there is sunshine, fresh air, and green trees.
(宾语从句,不可no matter where 替换）
我会住在（任何）有阳光、新鲜空气和绿树的地方。
最后，为了加深印象最后请比较：
They must go where we send them.

They must go wherever we send them.
