（一）基本用法
① 表示三者或者三者以上的人或物进行比较时，用最高级形式，形容词的最高级前一般加定冠词the。句末常跟一个in/of短语来表示范围。
【例如】
Tom is the tallest boy in our class.
汤姆是我们班上最高的男孩。
His box is the heaviest of all.
在所有的箱子中，他的箱子是最重的。
②表示三者或者三者以上的人或物进行选择时候，用“which/who is + the +形容词的最高级，A,B or C？”
【例如】
Which is the biggest ，the sun,the moon or the earth?
太阳、月亮和地球，哪一个最大？
Who is the shortest girl，Amy，Apple or Anna？
艾米、苹果和安娜，谁是个子最矮的？
（二）特殊用法
①one of + the +最高级+复数名词，表示“最…… 之一”
【例如】
The Yellow River is one of the longest rivers in China.
黄河是中国最长的河流之一。
②形容词最高级前面可以加上序数词，表示“第几最……”
【例如】
The Yellow River is the second longest rivers in China.
黄河是中国第二大的河流。
③ 形容词最高级前面可以有物主代词、指示代词、名词所有格等修饰，但此时就不能再加定冠词了。
【例如】
She is my best friend.
她是我最好的朋友。
④形容词的比较级结构可以表示最高级的含义
【例如】
He is taller than any other boy in our class.=He is the tallest boy in our class.
他是我们班里最高的男生。
