一、、“There be +某物（某人）+某地”表示某地有某物（或某人）。主要有以下五种时态。
1、一般现在时：
表示经常性、习惯性、真理性的动作或状态。
①There is a pen, two books and many pencils on the desk.
②There are two books，a pen and many pencils on the desk.
注意：There be句型中，几个名词并列时，be的单复数形式由最近名词单复数决定（就近一致原则）。
③There is some water in the cup.(杯子里有一些水)→Is there any water in the cup?(杯子里有水吗？）
④There are some fish in the river.(河里有一些鱼）→Are there any fish in the river?(河里有鱼吗?)
⑤There are some birds in the sky.（天空中有一些鸟。）
2、一般过去时：
表示过去某个时间或某个时间段所发生的动作或存在的状态，或过去习惯性、经常性的动作、行为。
①There were many students on the playground yesterday.昨天操场上有很多学生。
②There was a traffic accident on the road this morning.
今天早上马路上发生了一起交通事故。
③There were a lot of beautiful flowers in this park five years ago.
五年前这个公园里有许多漂亮的花。
3、一般将来时：
表示将来某一时刻发生的动作或存在的状态，或将来某一段时间内经常的动作或状态。在There be句型中，一般将来时用于描述某处将来会存在某人或某物。
①There will be an English test next week in our school.下周我们学校将有一场英语考试。
②There is going to be a sports meeting in our school tomorrow.
明天我们学校将有一场运动会。
③In the future, there will be a huge change in the world.
未来，世界将会有一个巨大的变化。
4、现在完成时：
表示过去发生的动作对现在造成的影响或结果，或过去某一时间开始并一直持续到现在的动作或存在的状态。这种时态的句式结构是“there have（has） been+人或物+地点”。
①There have been many changes in our hometown .我们的家乡已经发生了许多变化。
②There have been many visitors to the Great Wall this year.今年有很多游客参观了长城。
③There has been a lot of development in technology in China.
中国的科技已取得了很大的进展。
5、过去完成时：
过去完成时表示过去某一时间前就已经发生或完成了的动作（即过去的过去），对过去的某一时间点造成的某种影响或结果。
①There had been a lot of changes in his hometown before he left.
他离开前他的家乡发生了很多变化。
②There had been several wars in our country many years ago.
多年前我们国家曾发生过几场战争。
二、There be句型的变体。There be句型中的谓语动词除be之外，还可以用live（居住），lie（位于），exist（存在），stand（矗立），remain（保留、坚持、仍然是），go（去），come（来）等表示“存在”意义的动词。
①Long long ago，there lived a king.
很久很久以前，有一位国王。
②There remain several questions still to be answered.仍有几个问题要解答。
③There remains a lot of homework to be done for me.我还有很多家庭作业要做。
④There seems to be a problem with my bike.我的自行车似乎出了点问题。
⑤There stands the highest mountain ——— Qomolangma in the world.那里有世界上最高的山峰——珠穆朗玛峰。
⑦There exists a beautiful legend about Qinghai Lake.青海湖有一个美的传说。
⑧There came several knocks on the door.
传来了几声敲门声。
⑨There exists a deep friendship between Marx and Engels.马克思和恩格斯之间存在着深厚的友谊。
⑩There happened to be a boy walking by when the accident occurred. 事故发生时，碰巧有个男孩路过。
⑪There appears to be some mistakes in the calculation.计算中似乎有一些错误。
⑫There stands a tall building In the center of the square .广场中央矗立着一座高楼。
⑬Long long ago, there lived seven dwarfs in the forest.很久以前，森林里住着7个小矮人。⑭There exists a lot of evidence to support the theory.有很多证据支持这个理论。
⑮There exist many beautiful legends in the West Lake.西湖有许多美丽的传说。
三、There be句型与助动词、情态动词连用
①There must be something wrong with my computer.我的电脑一定出故障了。
②There can't be anyone in the classroom.
教室里不可能有人。
③There should be many hard-working students in the library on the weekend.
周末图书馆里应该有许多勤奋好学的学生。
④There will be a grand concert tomorrow night.明晚将有一场隆重的音乐会。
⑤There used to be a palace here.
这里以前有一个宫殿。
