take on是各类英语考试核心词组，最基本的用法是take on your coat 穿上衣服，take on a job /responsibility 承担工作/责任。take on在句中不能单独使用，后面要跟名词、代词或者名词词组作宾语，分类归纳如下：
1、表示“穿上,披上，戴上”，如：
Take on your coat 穿上衣服。
2、表示承担，接受（尤指艰巨工作或重大责任）；开始做，开始执行，开始处理(you take on a job or responsibility,especially a difficult one,you accept it.), 参加工作(尤指参军)；重新入伍；如：
He is always ready to take on heavy responsibilities.他一向乐于挑重担。
I don't feel ready to take on new responsibilities.
我不愿意承担新的责任。
She refused to take on the traditional woman's role.
她拒绝承担传统妇女的角色。
The vice-president must now take on the mantle of supreme power.
副总统现在必须承担起最高权力的重任。
