核心词组take on的用法

take on是各类英语考试核心词组,最基本的用法是take on your coat 穿上衣服,take on a job /responsibility 承担工作/责任。take on在句中不能单独使用,后面要跟名词、代词或者名词词组作宾语,分类归纳如下:

1、表示“穿上,披上,戴上”,如:

Take on your coat 穿上衣服。

2、表示承担,接受(尤指艰巨工作或重大责任);开始做,开始执行,开始处理(you take on a job or responsibility,especially a difficult one,you accept it.), 参加工作(尤指参军);重新入伍;如:

He is always ready to take on heavy responsibilities.他一向乐于挑重担。

I don't feel ready to take on new responsibilities.

我不愿意承担新的责任。
She refused to take on the traditional woman's role.

她拒绝承担传统妇女的角色。

The vice-president must now take on the mantle of supreme power.
